According to global DDoS attack report by Akamai’s Prolexic in 2014 the popularity of reflection and amplification attacks was on the rise. Report estimates that number of DDoS attacks has risen up to 22%. But in the second quarter of 2014 use of NTP reflection was down likely due to community effort to clean up vulnerable NTP servers.
