Berlin-based Security Research Labs found the way how to make SIM cards vulnerable to cyber attacks without leaving any evidence and noticing the user. Attacker would be able to download software onto the victim's SIM card and ultimately operate the device as the normal owner would. Although there has not been any abuse yet carriers have responded to the research by updating SIM cards.
