Microsoft expands bug info-sharing program to larger crowd

July 30, 2013

Microsoft has announced an expansion of a program that shares information with selected security firms. The time to threat data before the company patches its software will expand for selected class of researchers. Information from Microsoft Active Protections Program (MAPP) will be provided three days prior to Patch Tuesday instead of one. It is believed that a bit more time could help to create higher quality protection that could cover more scenarios.
