For hacking the Netgear routers with enabled remote management attackers just need to send a simple request to the web management server running on the device. The vulnerabilities have been assigned CVE-2017-5521 and TWSL2017-003. Netgear published detailed instructions on the affected models and the way to download and install firmware updates.
