The AVAST forum was hacked over this past weekend and users' nicknames, user names, e-mail addresses and hashed (one-way encrypted) were compromised. Even though the passwords were hashed, it could be possible for a sophisticated thief to derive many of the passwords. After the forum will be rebuilt and functional, users will be asked to change the passwords. The forum users present apprx. 0,2 % of all AVAST users. How the attacked breached the forum is not known yet.
