Vulnerability causing continuous reboots on Samsung Galaxy S4 and S5
Combination of vulnerabilities can cause continuous reboots remotely via malicious SMS.
Newly published vulnerability can restart mobile phone via SMS message. The affected devices are Samsung Galaxy S4, S4 Mini, S5 and Note 4. After succesful attack the smartphone ends in reboot loop a.k.a bootloop. Samsung has issued a patch in November 2016, but its impossible to tell the percentage of patched devices. The two vulnerabilities are labeled as CVE-2016-7988 a CVE-2016-7989.
